...They are all activities with which Gerry Beane continually challenges himself! Gerry Beane is an unusual guy. His interests are as varied as the community efforts he supports.

You might see him kayaking on local rivers - even in the middle of winter! You might see him hiking the Appalachian Trail; or hang gliding in Rio de Janeiro; or jogging 5-1/2 miles along White Oak & Penryn Roads. Those are the things he does to challenge himself.

But Gerry Beane is not the kind of person that thinks only of himself. The chances are equally good that you will see him at a Barnstormers’ Game serving food or washing cars to raise funds for Habitat for Humanity. You might see him visiting local nursing homes and hospitals with his therapy dog, Lady; or rubbing the feet of students at PSU’s Dance Marathon, which raises funds for children with cancer; or donating his time to political causes.

Yes, Gerry Beane is an unusual guy. But it is the kind of unusual that you will want on your side when buying or selling real estate!

Gerry moved to Lancaster County almost 30 years ago when he was transferred here by a Fortune 500 Company. He purchased a home in the city because of his love for traditional architecture and a desire to help make Lancaster a better place to live.

Not long after moving to the County, he started a small business of selling construction materials to custom builders. Gerry then moved from the city home on which he had worked so hard to restore its former glory to a new residence and new project.

It was because of Gerry’s appreciation for Lancaster County’s Heritage that he chose to take on the restoration of the Bausman Mansion on Millersville Pike “to save it for at least one more generation”, he says. After 8 years of restoring and living there, he has now finished that project, too.
